One Nation, One Town and One Person . . . .

Everyday I pray for Avia Anderson (with the FFTV Channel 93 Shirt), Davonte' Spence (with the car!), Grandmama Cynthia McDonald, and my 2nd grade Chetwood Primary School Friend Kamani.
Who is the ONE Person from the www.ilovejamaica.org trip you went on, that you pray for? Where do they live in Jamaica? What is your hope for them?

My prayers go out to Richard at Westhaven home, and soneal at the Blossom Gardens orphanage. Soneal is in and out of there alot, being picked up and then dropped off all the time. I pray that one of these days he gets picked up, and never returns to the orphanage. My prayers also go out to the Liliput school. Liliput has been my home since the first year I started going to Jamaica, and they have never left my heart. I don't have a specific place that I call my home in Jamaica. Everyplace we travel to is my home, and I look forward to it every year. My hope for those childred that I come in contact with, and those that I don't, is that they all find the love of Jesus through someone, and that they never let it go. That they embrace it for all the days of their lives. I hope that they are as successful as they can be, by working hard, trusting God to bless them, and to take care of them. But most of all I hope that when the day comes that the lord comes to recieve his children, I hope that i see my friends from Jamaica riding on the clouds with me.

"Anonymous" your are the first ever to post on this Blog...thank you. What a great statement,"Everyplace we travel to is my home".
It is so powerful for you to mention the names of Richard and Soneal.
Keep Lilliput with the Happy Ventures Basic School and Pastor Morris daily in your prayers...Friends Forever!

The person that I pray for is Diane, as she is a teacher at the New Testament Basic School. My hope for her is that she would continue to be an inspiration to her students, and that her dreams for her husband and 3 children would be fulfilled.

North Star Girl, that is so good that you hold a teacher close to your heart! The school she is teaches at is in Glendevon, right never the entry of the Norwood area. Not an easy place for cildren to grow up. Diane makes a difference, pray daily and write her monthly - you have and you will make a difference!

I pray for Denton Spencer and Dante, who have both left Blossom Gardens and moved on. I pray for Julius who still lives in Blossom Gardens. I pray for Caleen at Westhaven. I pray for Joseph at Channel 93. I thank God that there is something as simple and as easy as prayer that each one of us can do each day of our lives that doesn't take a great deal of effort, but the effort that we do expend in prayer will be multiplied many-fold in the impact that it can have on the lives of our Jamaican friends who live so far away.

There is great power in the statements of BabiRuth04 and Papa Bear.
BabiRuth04 said, "I didn't get to see Kameisha..." Also Papa Bear said, "...Jamaican friends who live so far away."
Always remember, everyday YOU DO see Kameisha, Denton Spencer, Dante, and others. You see them in your heart, mind and spirit. You know, I have to believe they see you too!
Your not so far away from them. Through daily prayer you will always close to them.

My prayers are for Melora and Shadae, my two friends in Lethe. I thank God for the love and kindness they have shown and pray that God would bless them in all they do and everywhere they go.
I also pray for my kids at Blossom Gardens, that God will let them feel his love, comfort, and presence especially during the times when they are alone.
4:57 AM
Thanks turqygobbler for your love for children in Lethe. The CORE Youth from Sandhills have also invested much time there in 2004 and 2005. Last month I was able to take a 21" TV to the school from CORE Youth. That TV will be a great education tool! Now you, Core Youth, and others will be able to send greetings direct to the Lethe school on DVD (for your friends to see).

"least of these" your heart is up the hill outside of Montego Bay! The kids need much love at Garland Hall, and the Lethe All Ages School. You said, "I can't pick just one." That is good! God is giving you alot of ones! You can remember them all!
Check out some pictures of a new school I found between Garland Hall and Lethe. It's called Eden Basic School:

I received a card the other day for my birthday....the best present I could have ever gotten in this whole world. It was from a little girl in Orange that I said Happy New Year to and Happy Birthday to on channel 93. Her name is Kourtnie-Ann Brooks. I don't think I have ever gotten a better gift ever! Thanks for showing us with Gods love we can make a difference!
10:17 AM
Your right, there is no better gift than connecting with Friends Forever in Jamaica.
You did the right thing to call in your Channel 93 TV Shout Out to Kourtnie (at our office #). We put it "on the air"! She and others heard your care beyond a one week trip.
To you and all www.ilovejamaica.org alumni members, keep communication ongoing to your Friends...Forever.

Amy... Everyday I pray for Avia Anderson. With the FFTV channel 93 shirt)... Davonte' Spence. I am going to write a poem for the ones in Jamaica. The poem what i am getting ready to write?
There Is a Way
There is a way to overcome the obstacles we face in life.... To many, they seem quite burdensome And they're ready to give up the strife.Oh friend, keep struggling as you trudge along Upon life's rugged road; There someone waiting to right the wrong By lifting your heavy load. There is a way to smile again if you'll look up in the sky, You'll find sunshine after the rain when the clouds have drifted by.Though many tears have filled your eyes, They've made the way quite clear to find a rainbow in the skies And take away your fear. Yes, ther's a way if you'll look for it. Just hang in ther and try. You'll find many blessings if you do not quit And they will multiply. Just trust in God from day to day And don't give in to despair. Hold on to His hand, let him lead the way, Keep a song in your heart and a prayer....
Here is another poem what i am writing and praying for the ones in Jamaica....
My Jesus
No matter what the future holds Or what tomorrow brings... I know I'm safe within the arms Of Jesus Christ, my King.. Everyday upon this earth, I feel his Spirit move... I know He lives within my heart To comfort and to soothe..And when I stumble, as I will, I'll pick myself up high... For in my weakeness, He is strong; In darkness, He is light.. Gentle Jesus, hear me now And dry these tears I weep. Take the burdens that I bear And heal me as L sleep. And as the morning sun appears, I'll give my thanks so true. Another day has come again, My Jesus, I Love You.

Hold Me Jesus
Hold Me Jesus when I'm sad and things are oh, so wrong; help me see beyond the hurt- place in heart a song. Hold me Jesus when I cry and see the world through fears; Comfort me with whispered words that drive away my fears...
Hold me Jesus let me feel the wonder of thy love as i lift my eyes to thee send peace from up above.
And when at last my heart is still yours loving arms around me let me look upon thy face and see thy wondrous glory!!!!!

I am praying for Pastor Brockett. He is the Pastor at Orange Assembly of God in Jamaica. He was kind to me and our group, you just don't expect to go there expecting to minister and evangelize and help and have the table turned on you. That is what he did. He made us feel as though we were members and long time family of his church. As a Pastor I think of his kindness often and how that translates in our community back home. I am Praying for you Pastor Brockett!

Great blog!
I'll be in Montego Bay over the summer and I'd love to volunteer at the Blossom Gardens orphanage while I am there. How do I go about organising this? Is there someone I would have to contact?
Thanks.
